Business Development Manager - ANZ
Role Summary
We are seeking a Business Development Manager (New Business) for the ANZ region to assist in developing and converting a pipeline across Squiz’s product range. This position will be part of the foundational sales team that we will expand over time.
This role is at the forefront of the sales process, focusing on generating new opportunities, qualifying them, and advancing them through the designated hand-off point to senior sellers in the region.

- Reports to: Sales Director (ANZ)
Key Outcomes
- Consistent, measurable creation of qualified new business pipeline in ANZ.
- Strong conversion from early-stage engagement to sales-qualified opportunities..
- A systematic and repeatable prospecting approach in the Higher Education, Government, and Professional Services sectors, with methodical expansion into other industries.
- High-quality handovers to senior sellers, including detailed opportunity notes, identified stakeholders, and agreed-upon next steps.
- Trusted representation of Squiz’s value and product offerings across DXP, Funnelback Search, and Content Intelligence.
Responsibilities
Pipeline Creation and Prospecting
- Identify and prioritise target accounts within key industries.
- Conduct multi-channel outreach via email, LinkedIn, events, and relevant partners.
- Establish early-stage relationships with stakeholders in marketing, digital, IT, and business.
- Ensure high-quality CRM management (activity logging, notes, next steps, qualification indicators).
Opportunity Qualification and Progression
- Qualify opportunities based on established criteria (need, urgency, stakeholders, budget, procurement pathway).
- Progress opportunities to the designated hand-off stage, including preparation for meetings and follow-up actions.
- Collaborate closely with senior sellers to ensure alignment on pursuit strategies and progress.
Product and Value Communication
- Effectively convey Squiz’s product offerings:
- Squiz DXP
- Funnelback Search
- Content Intelligence
- Customize the messaging for both:
- Marketing and Communication priorities
- IT and CTO requirements (governance, security, compliance)
Internal Collaboration
- Work with Marketing on campaigns, events, and content that enhance the pipeline.
- Provide feedback regarding market signals, objections, competitive actions, and messaging.
- Contribute to buildng the operating rhythm and playbooks for the future sales team.
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience
- Demonstrated experience in new business development, SDR/BDR roles, or early-stage sales positions.
- Track record building pipeline and converting meetings into qualified opportunities.
- Comfortable selling to diverse stakeholder groups, including marketing and IT leaders.
- Experience with enterprise or mid-market purchasing cycles (procurement, governance, security review).
Skills
- Effective communicator with strong written follow-up skills.
- Organized in qualification processes and time management.
- Commercial curiosity and capacity to quickly grasp product value.
- Disciplined application of CRM practices and maintenance of pipeline hygiene.
