Why this is your dream job: 

As a Business Development Manager (Account Executive), you'll act as both a sales leader and a strategic partner - identifying, evaluating, and closing high-quality software partnerships from around the world. 

You’ll own the full sales cycle and play a critical role in maintaining AppSumo’s high bar for products while building long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.

What you’ll do: 

  • Own the full sales cycle: prospecting, pitching, negotiating, and closing software partnerships via phone, email, and video
  • Vet inbound and outbound leads to ensure products meet AppSumo’s quality and customer-value standards
  • Structure and negotiate complex partnership agreements that benefit partners, customers, and AppSumo
  • Educate potential partners on how to successfully launch and scale on the AppSumo marketplace
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with founders and key stakeholders
  • Collaborate closely with the BDA team to ensure deal quality and pipeline health
  • Oversee campaign success from onboarding through launch, including coordination around integration and implementation
  • Use HubSpot to manage pipeline, forecast revenue, and maintain accurate deal data
  • Contribute to campaigns, events, and strategic initiatives that support company goals
  • Become a trusted expert on the AppSumo marketplace and articulate its value to a wide range of software founders
  • Consistently meet or exceed demo, revenue, and partnership targets while managing your own pipeline

 

Past experience: 

  • 3+ years as an Account Executive or similar role closing deals in the SaaS, PaaS, and/or enterprise software space
  • A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas 
  • Strong skills in prospecting, cold outreach, negotiating, and closing
  • Experience managing a full-cycle sales pipeline, forecasting, and reporting
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, booking platforms, and project management tools
  • Strong collaboration and relationship management skills
  • A user-centric mentality with a genuine passion for entrepreneurship and startups
  • Self-motivated, driven, and comfortable operating in a results-focused environment
  • Driven and have consistently met/exceeded direct sales goals
