THE ROLE
As a Certinia intern you will be fully immersed within our Business Development team responsible for a number of key areas, including:
  • Researching prospective buyers and accounts
  • Identify key decision-makers and organizational hierarchies
  • Analyze firmographic data (industry, size, funding stage, tech stack).
  • Track account activity and signals (hiring trends, news, partnerships)
  • Use AI tools (like Gemini & NotebookLM) to: Draft personalized email outreach, and summarize company news or leadership bios, and automate repetitive research tasks
  • Work with senior BDRs and AEs to define and refine the ICP (Ideal Customer Profile)
  • Join team stand-ups and strategy sessions to understand campaign goals
  • Educating, developing, and qualifying top prospect accounts to further into the Certinia buying process 
  • Leverage social networking tools in addition to other tools for sales prospecting and networking
  • Using Salesforce and other tools to track all activities and engagements with prospects effectively
The role will involve working with one or more internal teams, learning about how they work, and making contributions to their goals and objectives.
You will have a mentor to support, stretch and guide you during your internship.
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE
Responsibilities will include some or all of the following:
  • Responsible for identifying, researching, qualifying sales opportunities
  • Develop an understanding of the account’s business issues and other relevant information to learn more about the Sales Development prospecting process
  •  Using Salesforce and other tools to gather information about company accounts and store in internal CRM
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE
  • It is important that you have a passion for producing the highest quality work that ultimately makes Certinia successful
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Resourcefulness in getting over problems and establishing clarity
  • You will be an undergraduate on a Business related degree track
  • Strong interest in technology and sales
  • Some experience with database data entry is a plus (for example, Salesforce.com)
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and coachable 
  • Determined, team player with a can-do attitude and professional demeanor
  • Rising Junior or Senior in College
  • Must be available to start in June
