We are seeking a results-driven Business Development Executive with deep experience in the Oil and Gas industry. This is a strategic role for an industry professional who can leverage their expertise and network to help accelerate CapTech's on-going expansion in the energy sector.

You will be the "tip of the spear" for our growth, responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing new business opportunities. Your deep understanding of the industry's challenges - from digital transformation and energy transition to operational efficiency -will allow you to act as a credible, trusted advisor to prospective clients. This role is about building our presence and establishing CapTech as a premier partner in the Oil and Gas market.

Responsibilities

Drive New Logo Acquisition:  Execute a comprehensive market-entry strategy for the Oil & Gas sector. Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from initial prospecting to deal closure, consistently meeting and exceeding new business targets.

Activate Your Industry Network: Leverage your established network of senior-level contacts across the upstream, midstream, and downstream segments to generate warm leads, secure key meetings, and accelerate revenue growth.

Lead the Full Sales Cycle:  Work with portfolio on opportunities from qualification and discovery through proposal development, commercial negotiation, and contract execution. Quarterback the pursuit team, ensuring a cohesive and compelling message.

Serve as an Industry Expert:  Work with the portfolio to translate client needs and industry trends into innovative, tailored solutions that leverage CapTech’s capabilities to create measurable business impact.

Leverage C-Suite & Executive Relationships: Engage and influence senior client stakeholders and C-suite executives, establishing yourself and CapTech as a strategic thought partner.

Demonstrate Commercial Acumen: Lead complex client negotiations to secure multi-year, high-value deals. Act as a financial steward for both CapTech and our clients, ensuring mutually beneficial commercial structures.

Partner with Delivery Teams: Ensure a seamless transition from the sales process to the delivery team. Effectively communicate client objectives, scope, and success criteria to guarantee delivery excellence and client satisfaction from day one.

Cultivate Strategic Accounts: While the focus is on new business, you will be responsible for partnering with the portfolio as needed to nurture new clients into long-term, strategic partnerships by identifying follow-on opportunities for expansion.

Develop and Articulate Value Propositions: Master CapTech’s industry go-to-market solutions and expertly articulate how our technology capabilities can be leveraged to solve the most pressing business problems in the Oil & Gas sector, from optimizing upstream production to navigating downstream market volatility.

Lead with Data & Technology Insight: Utilize a sophisticated understanding of enterprise data ecosystems and technology stacks to drive a consultative, solution-selling process. Guide clients through the art-of-the-possible, establishing credibility and shaping opportunities that are grounded in a solid technical and commercial foundation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Petroleum and/or Natural Gas Engineering, Geology, IT, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience working directly within the Oil & Gas industry (e.g., for an operator, EPC, or major service company) in a strategic, operational, or commercial role.
  • Consulting experience a plus
  • Deep understanding of the Oil & Gas value chain and its key business drivers, challenges, regulations, and opportunities (e.g., digital oilfield, asset management, ESG reporting, supply chain optimization).
  • An established, verifiable network of senior-level contacts within the Oil & Gas sector is essential.
  • Strong experience engaging and influencing C-suite executives and senior client stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with the application of technology (Data & Analytics, Cloud, IoT, AI/ML) to solve industry-specific problems.
  • Entrepreneurial drive with the ability to operate with urgency, identify opportunities early, and act decisively to capture them.
  • Preference for candidate to be based in Texas with travel required to other domestic markets as needed
