Purpose
The Business Development Associate, Global Strategic Accounts drives global account growth by uncovering expansion opportunities, generating insight-driven engagement, and supporting the long-term commercial strategy across multinational enterprise clients. Operating at the intersection of business development, account management, and strategic growth, this role focuses on identifying expansion opportunities within existing multinational clients and targeted global prospects.
This role requires a consultative and account-based approach that goes far beyond traditional outbound activity, combining an account-based mindset, insight-driven research, relationship-building, and tailored engagement to uncover high-value opportunities.
Objectives
- Develop and execute targeted account development strategies within assigned global strategic accounts to consistently create high-quality, high-impact opportunities
- Build a deep understanding of each account’s organizational structure, business priorities, and international footprint to identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities
- Contribute to the overall global pipeline by driving thoughtful prospecting into priority regions, business units, and senior stakeholder groups
Responsibilities
- Partner with the Head of Global Strategic Account Program to define targeted account plans, including key business units, decision-makers, and ideal stakeholder profiles
- Conduct structured account research to map organizational hierarchies, identify expansion paths, and recognize business opportunities aligned with our EdTech solutions
- Design and execute multi-touch, insight-led engagement plans for each priority account
- Respond to inbound inquiries from global prospects, qualifying needs and aligning them with relevant solutions and market context
- Engage prospects with regionally and functionally relevant insights, messaging, and content tailored to their organizational challenges
- Conduct in-depth discovery conversations with stakeholders to uncover strategic priorities, pain points, and global learning challenges, and qualify opportunities using a consultative approach that considers business context, buying committees, and international implementation
- Book and prepare high-quality strategic meetings with clearly articulated value hypotheses and account insights
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Success to ensure seamless knowledge transfer, rigorous follow-up, and accurate records of interactions and opportunity status in Microsoft Dynamics
- Continuously explore new global business opportunities through multi-market industry analysis and share account insights, competitor activity, and market intelligence to support broader commercial strategy
- Based on performance, gradually take ownership of a defined pipeline within select global accounts, operating with increasing autonomy while aligning with the broader Global Accounts strategy
What You'll Offer
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in business development, sales, or account development (enterprise/complex accounts; EdTech/SaaS/B2B experience advantageous)
- Advanced English: additional languages are a strong advantage
- Strong communication and executive presence with the ability to engage senior stakeholders across multiple regions
- Strategic, curious, and analytical mindset, able to connect market insights with client needs and commercial opportunities
- Highly organized and methodical, with strong CRM proficiency (Microsoft Dynamics preferred)
- Motivated by commercial outcomes and accountable for driving impact across global territories
- Collaborative approach, working fluidly with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing in a global context
- Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable navigating ambiguity while growing into a more strategic BD role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; experience with LinkedIn Sales Navigator and account-based engagement tools is a plus
