This 10-week paid Summer Internship Program has been developed for students to gain practical training and hands-on experience that will help them meet their educational goals and prepare them for their professional careers in real estate. When creating our Program, we carefully assessed what made an internship experience meaningful. Our goal is to provide you with a dynamic and engaging learning experience, and the opportunity to develop while having dedicated support around you.

  • Our 10-week program begins June 1, 2026, and ends August 7, 2026.
  • We encourage students who are graduating in May/June 2027 to apply.
  • This is a full-time role based in our Santa Monica office.

What You’ll Do

This internship provides hands-on experience supporting the Asset Management team by helping build and scale analytics that drive portfolio performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. You’ll work closely with Asset Management, IT, and Analytics partners to assist in supporting foundational data models and translating complex datasets into actionable business insights.

Over the course of the internship, you’ll contribute to the development of our analytics ecosystem while gaining exposure to real estate asset management, data warehousing, and business intelligence tools. This summer, you will:

Business & Asset Management Analytics

  • Support the Asset Management team by developing analytics that track asset performance, operating trends, and key financial and operational metrics
  • Assist in building standardized metrics and reporting views used for portfolio monitoring and decision-making
  • Partner with analytics manager and other asset management stakeholders to understand reporting needs and translate them into clear analytical outputs
  • Help document definitions, assumptions, and logic behind key metrics to ensure consistency and transparency

Reporting & Visualization

  • Build and enhance reports in Power BI to deliver actionable insights to Asset Management and leadership teams
  • Design intuitive, executive-ready reporting that clearly communicate trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Iterate on reports based on stakeholder feedback and evolving business needs

Data Cleaning & Transformation

  • Extract, clean, and transform data from structured and semi-structured sources (property management systems, APIs, Excel, CSV files)
  • Identify data quality issues and assist with validation, reconciliation, and ongoing data accuracy checks
  • Develop reusable data cleaning and transformation logic using SQL and/or Python
  • Document data sources, transformation logic, and data quality rules to support long-term scalability

Data Warehouse & Analytics Foundation

  • Assist with building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines that feed the analytics data warehouse
  • Support the design and organization of analytical data models optimized for reporting and business analysis
  • Help with basic database optimization, performance checks, and query validation
  • Gain exposure to data warehouse design concepts as the platform is built out and scaled

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

Business & Analytical Skills

  • Metric Development & KPI Design: Ability to define, calculate, and document business metrics consistently
  • Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA): Experience analyzing datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and insights
  • Data Storytelling: Ability to synthesize findings into clear narratives that support business decisions

Core Technical Skills

  • Data Visualization Tools: Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms for building dashboards and reports
  • Excel Advanced Skills: Proficiency with pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas, and data manipulation
  • SQL Proficiency: Strong ability to write complex queries, joins, aggregations, and subqueries (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or Azure SQL)
  • Database Fundamentals: Understanding of relational database design, normalization, indexing, and query optimization
  • Python or R: Experience using Python (pandas, numpy) or R for data manipulation and scripting

Benefits

  • This is a non-exempt, hourly position paying $25.00 per hour, with eligibility for overtime.
  • Students residing outside of Los Angeles County are also eligible in receiving a $4,000 living stipend for the summer.
