Job Title: Business Analyst Savings and current accounts
Location: Amsterdam, NL(Hybrid)
2 days/week onsite
As a Business Analyst (BA) in Savings & Current Accounts, you will work with product owners, IT teams, risk & compliance, and operations teams to improve banking products and services. You will be responsible for analyzing business processes, regulatory requirements, digital transformation, and customer needs to enhance savings and current account offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business & Requirements Analysis
• Gather, analyze, and document business requirements for savings and current account products.
• Work with stakeholders to define business rules, interest calculations, overdraft policies, and transaction processing.
• Perform gap analysis to identify inefficiencies in existing account management processes.
• Define workflows for account opening, closure, upgrades (e.g., premium accounts), and joint accounts.
• Support implementation of new features, such as instant payments, overdraft protection, and savings automation.
2. Savings & Current Account Business Knowledge
A. Savings Accounts:
• Types of Savings Accounts:
• Regular savings accounts
• Fixed deposit accounts (term deposits)
• High-interest savings accounts
• Tax-free savings accounts (depending on regulations)
• Flexible savings (withdrawals without penalties)
• Key Features & Business Considerations:
• Interest rate models (fixed vs. variable rates)
• Minimum balance and deposit requirements
• Auto-savings & goal-based savings features
• Liquidity management and penalty structures for withdrawals
• Integration with investment & wealth management products
• Regulatory aspects (e.g., Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS) compliance)
B. Current Accounts (Checking Accounts):
• Types of Current Accounts:
• Personal current accounts (standard transaction accounts)
• Business current accounts
• Premium/Exclusive banking accounts
• Student & youth accounts
• Joint accounts
• Key Features & Business Considerations:
• Account fees, overdraft limits, and interest on balances
• Debit card & contactless payment integration
• Transaction processing & real-time payments (e.g., SEPA, SWIFT, iDEAL, Instant Payments)
• Account-linked services (loans, credit cards, budgeting tools)
• Fraud detection & transaction security (AML/KYC compliance)
3. Digital Banking & Innovation
• Support enhancements in online banking, mobile banking, and API-driven banking.
• Work on open banking & PSD2 integrations, allowing third-party services to connect with accounts.
• Identify opportunities for automation in customer onboarding and account servicing.
• Analyze customer behavior and propose features like round-up savings, AI-driven financial advice, or budgeting tools.
4. Compliance & Regulatory Requirements
• Ensure solutions comply with EU banking regulations, including:
• PSD2 (Payment Services Directive 2) & Open Banking
• Anti-Money Laundering (AML) & Know Your Customer (KYC)
• GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) for customer data privacy
• Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS) regulations
• FATF (Financial Action Task Force) compliance for international transactions
5. Agile & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Work in Agile (Scrum) teams, contributing to backlog refinement and sprint planning.
• Collaborate with IT, Operations, Risk, Legal, and Customer Support teams to implement solutions.
• Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide feedback for product improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Education: Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance, Business, IT, or related fields.
2. Experience: 8+ years in banking, fintech, or financial services as a Business Analyst.
Banking Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of savings & current account products, transaction processing, overdrafts, and interest structures.
• Experience with SEPA, SWIFT, Open Banking APIs, and Digital KYC/AML regulations.
• Knowledge of core banking systems (e.g., Finacle, Temenos, or ING’s internal platforms).
3. Technical Skills:
• Ability to work with SQL, APIs, and Business Process Modeling (BPMN, UML).
• Familiarity with Agile tools like Azure DevOps (similar to JIRA), Confluence.
4. Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication in English (Dutch is a plus).
