Business Analyst - Richmond, VA

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our team in Richmond, VA. This role requires a highly skilled professional with at least 10 years of experience in business and data analysis, combined with expertise in Agile frameworks and a strong customer advocacy mindset. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business needs and technology solutions, ensuring the delivery of high-impact outcomes.

Requirements

• Deliver comprehensive business and data analysis artifacts that align with customer needs and business goals.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, applying Scrum concepts and methodologies effectively.

• Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements, translating them into functional specifications.

• Utilize tools such as Azure DevOps and/or Jira to manage user stories, tasks, and sprints.

• Develop and maintain documentation, reports, and process flows using Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project Server.

• Analyze and interpret data from reporting systems, operational data stores, data warehouses, data lakes, and data marts to support decision-making and business strategy.

• Serve as a customer advocate, ensuring their needs are understood and addressed across all stages of project delivery.

• Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both verbally and in writing.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience delivering business and data analysis artifacts with a strong customer-focused approach.

• 5+ years of experience as an Agile Business Analyst with a solid understanding of Scrum principles and methodology.

• Hands-on experience with software development management tools such as Azure DevOps and/or Jira.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Visio, PowerPoint, and Project Server.

• Strong background working with reporting systems, data warehouses, data lakes, operational data stores, and data marts.

• Exceptional written and oral communication skills with the ability to advocate effectively for customers and collaborate with diverse teams.
