Position Summary
As a Business Analyst you will report to the leader of Reporting and Business Intelligence practice. As a key member of the BI team, you’ll be expected to influence type of data analysis, provide timely & insightful recommendations, and contribute to the success of the overall business. You will bring a high level of value add to the organization to improve quality of the data analysis and reporting, while ensuring the business leaders are getting insights to the problems at hand. You will have access to the data scientist peers to collaborate with them and deliver sophisticated recommendations.
The Business Analyst is constantly looking to add value and insights to improve business operations. The role will have accountability to deliver on targeted problems identified by the leadership and coach the reporting team on what analysis should be done, perform the analysis, propose wireframe reports and visuals that share the insights effectively to senior leadership.
The position objectives and responsibilities are:
- Perform data discovery, data clean-up, analysis, and modeling to answer targeted business questions and solve business problems
- Leverage prior experience and business acumen to create operational visibility to business
- Develop KPIs or build out set KPIs to measure and track performance of teams/processes
- Perform sentiment analysis, statistical analysis, build forecasting models and have analytical capability & acumen to do exploratory analysis
- Develop and continuously improve reports and dashboards delivering value without being closely managed
- Performing, documenting, and effectively communicating the results of analysis efficiently & effectively
- Managing projects, developing project plans, and monitoring performance
- Monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
- Providing leadership, training, coaching, and guidance to junior staff
- Facilitate/collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver on your objectives and overcoming roadblocks
Qualifications and Experience:
- Advanced analytical and conceptual thinking skills to visualize, root cause and solve problems
- 8+ years of professional experience in data analysis/visualization space
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, business, or related field (MBA is a bonus).
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in business analysis or business intelligence
- Experience in data analysis (Python, Alteryx, Mode or other tools), data visualization (Power BI, excel reports or other similar tools) & storytelling (using slides, graphs or others means to articulate insights)
- Write SQL scripts to extract and manipulate data from various sources
- Professional services or consulting experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to understand the big picture and use sound judgment to reach decisions while demonstrating sensitivity for all parties and issues. Able and unafraid to provide valuable input across the company
- Experience creating detailed reports and delivering insights
- Aptitude for business financials, budget management, and bottom-line driven discipline
- Excellent communication skills including an ability to present information clearly and concisely in writing or verbally. Displays a high level of professionalism by setting appropriate examples in meetings and interactions with peers and team members
- High level of curiosity about the future of AI, a passion to grow and develop innovative solutions for this constantly changing space
