Overview
We are FundCount, a growing international fintech company with a 20-year history and a global office and staff footprint. We provide a unified software solution for investment, general, and partnership accounting and analysis. Our product delivers operational efficiency and insight to investment management professionals — family offices, fund administrators, and alternative fund managers.
Business Analyst will be responsible for working closely with FundCount’s clients, prospects, and, if required, internal functional areas to:
- Work with our implementation and customer support teams, answer complex client questions and manage use cases testing various capabilities of FundCount.
- Perform analysis and specification writing for investment accounting data mapping and migration processes.
- Gather, analyze, and transform clients’ fund accounting & investment analysis feature requirements into system specifications.
- Provide product support and training to functional teams such as Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Tech Writers, Implementation, Customer Service, Developers, and QA testing.
We require a Business Analyst based in Europe.
This position involves short business trips.
Our product
All portfolio and partnership accounting activity in FundCount is aggregated within one software system and flows through a single general ledger. Investment information is consolidated, accurate, and instantly available, providing insight and the foundation for in-depth analysis that drives decision-making.
Our clients are single and multi-family offices, fund administrators, private equity firms, and hedge funds.
Responsibilities
Core
- Focus on solving business problems — conduct market analysis and produce comprehensive product/service requirements and detailed specifications for existing and new financial functionality, interfaces, and reports.
- Analyze clients’ investment accounting processes and systems, including those involving FundCount and surrounding applications. Transform this analysis into system-wide configuration instructions.
- Solicit and document client business requirements — work collaboratively with clients and FundCount staff to provide consultative support regarding applications and business processes.
- Provide hands-on product support and training to clients and FundCount internal teams.
- Conduct necessary research, prepare business/functional requirements, and review functional designs and product documentation articles.
- Work with technical and development staff to conduct user-acceptance testing, including preparing test data and user-acceptance testing documents.
- Develop data mapping specifications for existing and new data import and export interfaces between FundCount and third-party investment management systems and services.
Additional
- Work with Sales, convert prospect data, and set up use-case scenarios for proof of concept and demo exercises.
- Lead demonstrations with business, support, and customer training groups for new and improved applications, communicate detailed descriptions of functionality changes, and provide follow-up support as required.
- Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams.
- Present recommendations in a logical, concise, and influencing manner.
Critical Success Factors
- Bachelor’s degree in science, mathematics, accounting, or finance.
- 2+ years of relevant experience in fund administration, family offices, or investment accounting & technology (fund accounting and administration systems).
- Experience with research, requirements capture, and business analysis on IT projects for complex financial applications in the alternative fund industry.
- Strong knowledge of a broad range of investment management products, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, hedge funds, private equity funds, and real estate funds, is highly desirable.
- Strong MS Excel skills and familiarity with Jira or similar task/issue management systems.
- Ability to learn new things quickly and work independently and as a project team member.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Willingness to travel within the region to conduct client training approximately 20% of the time.
