STMD does this through a portfolio of programs providing funding to researchers and technology developers.  The Business Advisory Analyst position is responsible for policy initiatives, risk management process, executive management support and program performance analysis, program management review meeting support and event planning.  The ideal candidate has extensive experience interacting with and supporting senior executives in a large government organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree required in a business or science and technology field
  • 3 years’ business analysis experience with a large government organization  
  • Ability to conduct research, distill data and provide recommendations to senior leadership
  • Ability to maintain professional bearing in all meetings, briefings, and discussions with senior leadership

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5 years’ experience with a large government organization that focuses on space technology
  • Experience in working with NASA and specifically Science & Technology Mission Directorate

 

Individuals will perform various business advisory and executive support roles to ensure efficient and effective business operations of organizational activities. Specific tasks may include:

  • Support Directorate-level risk management processes, including risk identification, documentation, and mitigation tracking
  • Coordinate and integrate executive-level meetings, briefings, and decision support materials
  • Maintain and manage NASA STMD battle rhythm activities (monthly, quarterly, and strategic reviews)
  • Collaborate with government stakeholders and program teams to improve processes and communication flow
  • Prepare briefing materials, dashboards, and status reports for leadership forums and program reviews
  • Track and report Space Technology Mission Directorate (STMD) performance across multiple programs, including development of metrics and impact stories
  • Conduct evaluation and analysis of program outcomes to improve service quality and mission effectiveness
  • Develop and maintain STMD systems and program management best practices guidance
  • Plan and support STMD Center tri-annual interchanges, including logistics coordination and travel preparation
  • Execute change management activities, including configuration tracking and stakeholder coordination
  • Facilitate cross-program coordination across a large portfolio of NASA technology programs
  • Analyze program performance data to inform leadership decisions and strategic planning
  • Coordinate event planning activities including workshops, forums, and stakeholder engagements
  • Provide meeting documentation, action item tracking, and follow-up execution
  • Assist leadership in prioritizing workload during surge periods and shifting mission priorities
