Building Services Technician

The Opportunity:


We are looking for a Building Services Technician to join our team at Carp. This role plays an important part in keeping our facilities clean, organized, and safe for our employees and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, is detail-oriented, and enjoys a hands-on, active role that supports day-to-day operations at the shop. This is a future vacancy within the organization.

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • Perform daily cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting in offices, kitchen areas, washrooms, and common spaces.
  • Clean and restock washrooms and kitchen supplies regularly.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the shop, including equipment areas and workstations.
  • Dispose of garbage and recycling safely and efficiently.
  • Support general labour activities such as moving equipment, organizing materials, and assisting with minor maintenance tasks.
  • Clean shop systems and equipment as directed.
  • Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly to the Shop Manager.
  • Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental protocols.


Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills:


  • Previous experience in janitorial, custodial, or general labour roles preferred.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and operating cleaning equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a safe and clean environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Currently holds or is eligible to obtain a minimum Reliability Status security clearance.
  • A valid Ontario driver’s license.
