Brutus and Barnaby, a company all about providing top-quality treats and supplements for your furry friends.
We started out of a genuine love for dogs, and it’s this passion that drives everything we do. It’s an exciting time for us, and the opportunities for growth in the pet space are massive.
At Brutus and Barnaby, we’re a small, tight-knit team that’s big on creativity and big ideas. We’re not just about business - we're about making a difference for pets and their owners.
If you’re looking to join a team where your work truly matters and can have an immediate impact, this is the place for you!
We’re looking for an Amazon Brand Manager to fully own and scale our presence on the platform. Brutus & Barnaby is a fast-growing, premium dog treat brand selling across Amazon, Chewy, and DTC. Amazon is our largest and most important channel. You’ll be the kind of person who thrives on responsibility, thinks strategically, and can drive growth and oversee all aspects of our Amazon platform.
This role is not entry-level and not a “listings-only” position. We’re looking for someone who understands Amazon as a business — strategy, execution, and growth — and can take full ownership of performance.
What You’ll Own (Key Responsibilities):
You will be reporting directly to the founder who up until now has always worn this hat, you will be responsible for end-to-end management of the Brutus & Barnaby brand on Amazon, including:
📈 Overall Amazon Strategy & Growth: Own revenue, conversion rate, and profitability for the Amazon channel. You know Amazon and the algorithm so well you can identify growth opportunities, are able to create and execute your plan to achieve the growth target. You can plan and execute promotions (Lightning Deals, Prime events, etc.) in alignment with SKU strategy and are fully familiar with all of the promotion types and purposes, you are fully familiar with the tools used to continuously monitor the competitive landscape.
📊 Listings & Content Optimization: Because you know the algorithm so well you create optimized titles, bullet points, descriptions, A+ content, and the Brand Storefront. You coordinate with the creative team on image stacks, ensuring listings are compliant and conversion-focused.
📝 Advertising (PPC): Oversee the PPC strategy and collaborate with the existing successful PPC agency on all ad types. The PPC side of your post focuses on coordinating strategy with the PPC Agency already in place, monitoring performance via weekly calls and ensuring the PPC strategy stays relevant and successful.
🛍 Account Health & Operations: You are full familiar with all aspects of monitoring account health and can manage and oversee the existing staff who handle the day to day of this. You have experience in handling listing suppressions, variations, and other catalog issues. Coordinate cross-functionally with the operations team on inventory planning and forecasting, customer service, and marketing.
💡 Reporting & Communication: Provide clear weekly/monthly reporting on performance, translate Amazon data into actionable insights, and proactively flag risks and opportunities to leadership. You will act as the internal “Amazon expert” across the company.
🧑💼 Team Leadership: Oversee the Amazon team to ensure the Amazon catalog is optimized and performing well, and manage the execution of projects aligned with the company’s vision.
Working Hours ⏰: This is a role with full-time hours (8 am - 4 pm EST) with flexibility to handle emergencies as needed, including occasional weekends (with additional pay).
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
Must-have requirements:
✅ 3+ years managing Amazon brands (Seller Central) with proven experience growing revenue.
✅ Deep understanding of Amazon SEO, PPC strategy/optimization, A+ content, and Amazon policies/best practices.
✅ Strong analytical skills (business reports, ads data, forecasting) and a hands-on attitude.
✅ Experience managing projects from concept to completion and leading teams effectively.
✅ Exceptional attention to detail with great soft skills.
✅ Experience managing a larger product catalogue (75+ SKUs).
Brownie points:
⭐ Experience in the pet, CPG, or consumables category.
⭐ Advanced Excel skills.
⭐ Accounting knowledge or experience working with external agencies.
⭐ Experience with Chewy.com.
The ideal candidate:
You’re a self-starter who doesn’t need micromanagement and thrives on taking initiative. Relentlessly curious, you’re always digging to improve what’s working/driving up KPIs and fixing what isn’t. With top-notch communication skills and the ability to stay composed under pressure, you embody the qualities of a strong leader who inspires confidence and action. You’ll have real ownership, not just task execution, and you’ll work directly with leadership to help shape the future of a premium, fast-scaling brand.
