As Smardt’s Plattsburgh factory is expanding there is great growth opportunity!
Responsibilities and duties:
-
Join copper piping by brazing.
-
Leak check refrigerant circuits including pressure and evacuation tests.
-
Transfer refrigerant.
-
General mechanical assembly work.
-
Other general tasks as appropriate.
Qualifications:
-
Previous brazing experience.
- Refrigerant handling license.
-
Journeyman refrigeration mechanic license.
-
RBQ brazing certificate.
Education requirement:
-
Post-secondary education or related experience.
Required skills

Ability to braze copper joints with an open flame torch.
-
An understanding of evacuation and refrigerant transfer equipment and industry best practices.

Attention to detail.
-
Mechanical skills.
-
Able to work alone.
-
Working written/verbal communication skills (English)

Ability to multitask and adapt to a highly dynamic environment.

Good reasoning skills and sound judgement.
-
Must be able to lift packages up to 50 pounds.
