Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: We’re looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage day-to-day accounting operations across our growing store network. This is a hands-on role suited for a mid-level professional who communicates clearly, takes initiative, and enjoys improving processes not just following instructions.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Perform bank, POS, and account reconciliations
  • Accurately code transactions and allocate cost centers
  • Maintain clean, up-to-date financial records
  • Work with both Xero and a legacy POS accounting system
  • Flag discrepancies, risks, and process improvements proactively
  • Communicate clearly with internal stakeholders on financial matters

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mid-level bookkeeping experience (not junior)
  • Highly detail-oriented and accurate
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proactive problem-solver (comfortable pushing back and asking questions)
  • Confident working with imperfect or older systems
  • Organized, reliable, and able to manage multiple priorities

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
