Position Summary:
The Biostatistician I plays a key role in supporting the research efforts of clinical researchers. Primary responsibilities include: providing statistical expertise to clinical researchers in the study design, statistical modeling, data analysis and statistical reporting of clinical trials and other research studies; this includes applying efficient study designs, ensuring studies are appropriately powered to reliably answer the study question, analysis using statistically valid methods; reporting results, including the writing of statistical methods sections of manuscripts submitted for publication.

Duties: 

 

  • Work with clinical researchers to provide statistical modeling and data analysis
  • Communicate with study coordinators, data managers, and other research staff to clarify the clinical definition on study endpoints and clinical features, and provide summary statistics and descriptive tables and figures
  • Provide statistical programming such as SAS and R, and conduct data quality control and data integration
  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Health Informatics, Computer Science, Biostatistics or equivalent
  • 4-6 years of statistical modeling and analysis experience; or MSc in Biostatistics, Statistics, Informatics or Computer Science
  • 1-2 years of experience, effective oral and written communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and problem solving skills
  • A self-starter, working independently and to manage multiple projects concurrently
  • A working knowledge of SAS and/or R using a Windows platform is essential
