Billing Specialist - Project Associate

 Overview – Role

Jensen Hughes is seeking a self-motivated Billing Specialist - Project Associate , to play a crucial role within the Project Finance Department. In this role you will be responsible for managing the company’s billing cycle; with a key focus on managing accounts receivable and unbilled DSOs for a particular region while working closely with Project Managers and project financial accountants to resolve open-billing and AR issues.  

Our India office is based in Mumbai , India and this role offers hybrid working options while based in Mumbai

Key Responsibilities

  • Actively manage the monthly billing process, generating draft invoices, making changes in ERP, producing final invoices and distributing to the client
  • Ensure first time quality throughout the invoicing process
  • Perform detailed reviews of billing inputs (rates, milestones, hours, expenses) to ensure completeness and correctness prior to invoicing
  • Maintain exceptional attention to detail while processing a high volume of invoices in a fast-paced environment and
  • Ensure billings are aligned to our contractual obligations and actively support the collections effort, working with collections partners to ensure timely payment
  • Support resolution of problems  by  escalating issues to financial analysts and managers as necessary
  • Meet strict billing deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy

Requirements and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor of Science in Finance, Accounting or related field of study along with 2-4 years of relevant experience in billing, collections and/or related areas  and experience with large ERP or accounting software
  • Hungry, career driven attitude for managing tight deadlines, improving processes, thriving in a fast-paced environment with ability to act with a sense of urgency
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to clearly articulate issues and solutions.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and thrive in a fast-paced environment 
  • Detailed orientated with a focus on transactional excellence and a sense of urgency and ability to independently prioritize competing deadlines  working independently as well as within a team setting
  • Proficient in MS Office with high proficiency in Excel
