The Opportunity:

We’re looking to fill an opening for a Bilingual Manager, Operations, New Accounts to join our team.

Reporting to the VP/Director, Operations, the Bilingual Manager, Operations, New Accounts is responsible for leading the New Accounts & Account Maintenance team for our Correspondent & Institutional lines of business. The Manager’s focus will be on the team’s performance with respect to timeliness and quality, including achievement of service level agreements. Along with working on ways to leverage technologies, expertise and relationships to continuously improve the service offering to our partners.

What your day looks like:

  • Responsible for management of Aviso’s New Accounts & Account Maintenance team for the Correspondent & Institutional lines of business, ensuring team members are performing their assigned duties in accordance with internal procedures and service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Direct supervision and ongoing performance management of the Operations Supervisors who are in turn responsible for the daily-to-day management of SLA performance by the team
  • Ongoing monitoring and management of the team’s resources to ensure appropriate staffing and coverage
  • Ensure appropriate training, support and tools are provided to Operations to perform their duties. This pertains not only to developing and maintaining the required skills and knowledge to succeed in their role, but also the system reporting, and tools required to complete their assigned duties
  • Identify and resolve trends in escalations, delays or errors by the team
  • Ensure appropriate management of the shared Operations inbox(es) so that accurate and timely responses are provided to partners in a professional and service-first manner. This includes leading the development of a process or system to identify and track the advisor/partner queries
  • Assist with the planning and execution of corporate and department level projects or initiatives, as assigned by the Director, Operations

Requirements

Your experience and skills:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Commerce, Business Management or a related field is an asset
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive work experience in the Mutual Fund or Brokerage industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role 
  • Strong people leadership and talent management skills, including attracting and hiring talent, engagement with staff and a focus on individual and team development
  • Keen business acumen, business judgement and problem-solving skills to serve as a trusted advisor
  • Ability to work independently to achieve required objectives, within Company and regulatory requirements
  • Self-motivated, results orientated with strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven decision-making, prioritizing, and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various levels of management and staff
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English and French is required to effectively communicate with partners, clients, and colleagues across Canada

Salary

This position is posted with an expected salary range of $93,000 - $113,000 CAD annually. Individual compensation packages are based on various factors unique to each candidate and the requirements of the position.
