Role Overview

The Bilingual Billing Specialist (Spanish/English) manages accurate and timely billing operations while providing bilingual support to Spanish- and English-speaking stakeholders. This role ensures billing accuracy, compliance, and clear communication across language barriers.

You will handle claims processing, billing inquiries, account follow-ups, and documentation while serving as a key bilingual point of contact. This role is ideal for detail-oriented professionals who combine billing expertise with strong bilingual communication skills.

Core Responsibilities

Bilingual Claims & Billing Processing — 30%

  • Prepare, review, and submit billing claims accurately and on time
  • Ensure proper coding and documentation across billing records
  • Process billing information involving Spanish- and English-language documentation
  • Monitor claim status and follow up with payers or stakeholders as needed
  • Translate billing-related documents between Spanish and English when required

Bilingual Account Resolution & Communication — 25%

  • Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies or denied claims
  • Communicate billing outcomes and next steps in Spanish or English
  • Prepare appeal documentation and supporting records
  • Explain billing concepts clearly across both languages
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve complex billing issues

Bilingual Account Management — 20%

  • Serve as primary bilingual contact for billing inquiries
  • Explain billing statements, balances, and payment options
  • Establish and manage payment arrangements when applicable
  • Handle sensitive billing conversations with professionalism and cultural awareness
  • Maintain accurate documentation of bilingual communications

Insurance Verification & Authorization Support — 15%

  • Verify benefits and eligibility and communicate coverage details bilingually

  • Post payments accurately and reconcile billing records
  • Review explanations of benefits and resolve discrepancies

Requirements

Must-Haves (Required)

  • Fluent written and verbal Spanish and English communication
  • 1–2+ years of experience in billing, collections, or revenue cycle roles
  • Strong attention to detail and billing accuracy
  • Experience handling billing documentation and account follow-ups
  • Ability to translate billing-related information between Spanish and English
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Professional handling of confidential financial information
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
