Bid role - Software Engineer (role starts in 8-10 weeks) - TS/SCI w/ Poly

The Contractor team shall provide systems engineering, custom application development, database administration and operations and maintenance (O&M) for the Sponsor system in support of the full system lifecycle. The Contractor shall provide support for deployment packaging, system maintenance and troubleshooting for software and virtual infrastructure (cloud) components to maintain sustainability and reliability of the Sponsor’s system.

Software engineering

1. Analyze complex system requirements.
2. Design software tools and subsystems to support software reuse and domain analyses.
3. With Sponsor oversight, manage the implementation of new software tools and subsystems.
4. Translate detailed design into software.
5. Conduct development activities such as coding, testing, debugging and refining the software.
6. Prepare documentation such as program-level, user-level and security documentation.
7. Enhance software to improve efficiency.
8. Deploy and maintain a cloud-based infrastructure to support a web application with micro services backend. 
9. Develop detailed designs.
10. Decompose requirements.
11. Develop key features and enhancements.
12. Work with other systems engineers and developers.
13. Provide technical guidance in software engineering techniques.
14. Provide guidance on the use of automated support tools.
15. Prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.

 

Required Skills:

a.      Demonstrated experience translating detailed design into computer software.

b.      Demonstrated experience developing and conducting software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.

c.      Demonstrated experience ensuring the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.

d.      Demonstrated experience preparing documentation such as program-level, user-level, and security documentation.

e.      Demonstrated experience performing as an Agile Scrum Master.

f.       Demonstrated experience translating database requirements into end-to-end design for databases that may involve multiple interfaces to other database systems.

g.      Demonstrated experience designing, developing, implementing and maintaining database structures.

h.      Demonstrated experience designing interactive web databases and web services; and user interfaces.

i.       Demonstrated experience developing security procedures to protect databases from unauthorized usage.

j.       Demonstrated experience developing, testing, and implementing complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.

k.      Demonstrated experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) and MS Azure cloud technologies.

l.       Demonstrated experience with Jenkins, Github, Docker, and orchestration tools such as Ansible, CloudFormation, or Terraform.

m.    Demonstrated experience with Linux administration and scripting languages including Bash and Python.

n.      Demonstrated experience with full ELK stack such as ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Filebeat.

o.      Demonstrated experience with JavaScript/HTML/CSS web user interfaces.

p. Demonstrated experience with web UI frameworks, such as React and/or Extended JavaScript (ExtJS).
