As a BI Engineer at Syrve, you will play a key role in developing end‑to‑end analytical solutions that empower data‑driven decision‑making across the company. This role combines BI development, data modeling, ETL engineering, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver reliable insights and high‑quality data products.
3+ years of experience as a BI Engineer, Data Engineer, or similar role.
Strong practical experience with Power BI: advanced DAX, data modeling, and Power BI Service administration.
Confident work with Excel OLAP cubes, including writing formulas and building queries to semantic Power BI models (standard Excel tables alone are not sufficient).
Strong knowledge of Python for writing complex ETL scripts, working with external APIs, and parsing data (not just maintaining existing DAGs).
Understanding the architecture of analytical DWHs, including denormalization principles and differences from classical relational databases.
Confident SQL skills (PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and ability to read T‑SQL.
Readiness to work with legacy: proven ability to analyze someone else’s code, unstructured data, and historical databases with limited documentation.
Understanding of SaaS business metrics, subscription models, and CRM structures (revenue, cohorts, churn logic).
Basic understanding of Power Automate flows and willingness to learn quickly.
Proficiency in Russian and English.

Writing advanced DAX measures.

Enhancing the analytical data warehouse (DWH).
Designing data models for BI needs, creating new business entities not present in source systems, and performing gradual refactoring of legacy structures.

Maintaining pipelines in Apache Airflow.
Additional responsibilities
Analyzing, reverse‑engineering, and optimizing existing data structures.
Writing complex SQL queries (PostgreSQL, MariaDB) and analyzing T‑SQL to understand the structure of MS SQL–based systems.
Configuring and supporting automations in Power Automate (e.g., auto‑refreshing Excel reports, Outlook email flows).
Ensuring data consistency, identifying metric discrepancies across CRM databases, and resolving anomalies.
Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical BI solutions.
Experience implementing data governance practices and access control models.
Understanding metrics relevant to hospitality or POS systems.
Working in an international company.
Registration under the Labor Code of Armenia from the first day.
Ability to work both remotely and in the office if desired.
