We are currently hiring for our 5* resort Domes Miramare Corfu, The Luxury Collection, an ultimate luxury experience, located in Corfu.

Bar Manager

The Role:

The Bar Manager at Domes Resorts is responsible for the overall operation, management, and success of the bar and beverage service areas. This includes overseeing daily operations, managing bar team, ensuring guest satisfaction, optimizing profits, maintaining inventory control, and upholding high standards of safety, cleanliness, and customer service. The Bar Manager creates a memorable guest experience, fostering a positive work environment for their team members, while maintaining the bar’s profitability.

Some of the responsibilities:

Guest Experience & Customer Service

  • Greet and welcome guests promptly in a warm manner and engage in a friendly conversation. Anticipate guests' needs and provide attentive service.
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by maintaining a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Resolve customer complaints or issues in a timely and professional manner and monitor customer feedback, making necessary adjustments to improve service.
  • Foster a welcoming and inviting atmosphere in the bar by training the rest of the staff to anticipate guests’ needs, deliver personalized service, and always ensure an exceptional experience too.

Bar Operations Management

  • Order and maintain inventory of beverages, including alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and supplies, minimizing waste to control costs.
  • Oversee the service of beverage operation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the bar area and conduct inspections to ensure high levels of quality and health and safety standards at all times.
  • Arrange the bar layout and arrangement of furniture and equipment in a way that minimizes waste of space and maximizes customer comfort.

Team Management & Development

  • Hire, oversee and train Bar's team members. Create work schedules and manages staffing levels to meet demand.
  • Provide guidance and feedback to team members, fostering a culture of continuous Lead by example, providing positive feedback, addressing performance issues, and promoting a positive work culture. Conduct regular performance reviews, set goals, and foster staff development.

Inventory & Stock Control

  • Oversee ordering, inventory, and stock control of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, garnishes, glassware, and bar supplies. Ensure inventory levels meet operational needs and avoid overstocking.
  • Ensure the proper rotation of stock to avoid product spoilage and to maintain the quality of ingredients, especially for perishable items such as garnishes or fresh juices.

Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations regarding the sale and service of alcohol.
  • Oversee emergency procedures for the bar area, such as first aid, fire safety, and evacuation plans. Ensure staff are trained in emergency protocols, including handling intoxicated guests or accidents in the bar area.

Requirements

Useful to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Bar Management, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role, within the luxury hospitality environment.
  • Good knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation regulations, and Food & Beverage preparations and service.
  • Very good knowledge of English language and familiarity with computer systems.
  • WSET certification will be considered a qualification.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
  • Very good knowledge of Spirits, Wine, Alcoholic, and non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Ability to build relationships, internally and externaly, with the department and between the department and the rest of the hotel.
  • Supervisory skills and Performance Management to lead, motivate, and collaborate with team members to achieve common goals.
  • Proactive way of managing and organizing with an eye to detail.
