Sezzle is looking to expand its Bankruptcy Team. We are seeking a talented and motivated Bankruptcy Specialist who is best in class with a high IQ plus a high EQ. What You'll Do:

The Bankruptcy Specialist is responsible for monitoring, reviewing, and processing bankruptcy filings to ensure accurate credit reporting and full regulatory compliance. This role requires hands-on expertise with bankruptcy court systems, credit bureau reporting standards, and dispute resolution workflows. You will act promptly on court notices, ensure automatic stay compliance, and maintain accurate account statuses throughout the bankruptcy lifecycle.

Notice of Bankruptcy: Immediate cessation of collections and reporting under the Automatic Stay
Account Scrubbing: Matching incoming court notices against internal account records
Dispute Resolution: Proactive compliance with the 30-day FCRA requirement
Status Updates: Timely updates to “Discharged” or “Dismissed” status following court confirmation

What We Look For:

Degree in Legal Studies or a related field.
FCRA Certification (CDIA) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experiencr in credit reporting, bankruptcy paralegal work, or loan servicing compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficient in using PACER and the Bankruptcy Noticing Center (BNC) to retrieve court filings, monitor dockets, and verify case outcomes, including distinctions between Discharge and Dismissal.
Skilled in updating consumer credit files using Metro 2 reporting codes, including setting appropriate Consumer Information Indicators for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcies, or auditing third-party reporting accuracy.
Experienced in resolving bankruptcy-related ACDVs through eOSCAR within mandated timelines.
