We are seeking a Banking Operations Associate to join our team and provide essential support for our daily banking activities. In this entry-level role, you will help ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant operations by assisting with transaction processing, maintaining records, and supporting both senior team members and clients. You will play a vital part in operational support, compliance, and client service, all while learning and developing your skills through in-house training and collaborative teamwork.


ROLE OVERVIEW

The Banking Operations Associate is a junior team member to our Banking Operations Team and supports the day-to-day operational activities of the bank. This is an entry-level role, ideal for someone who is organised, detail-oriented, and motivated to learn. No formal banking qualifications are required — as in-house training will be provided.

 

The role focuses on operational support, transaction processing, record keeping, and assisting senior team members to ensure smooth, accurate, and compliant banking operations.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Support

  • Support the Banking Operations team with daily operational tasks and administrative activities
  • Follow established policies, procedures, and operational controls under supervision
  • Assist with maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with internal and regulatory requirements
  • Help identify and escalate operational issues or discrepancies to senior team members
  • Participate in process improvements and operational projects as required

 

Transactions and Systems

  • Assist with processing domestic and international payments using internal banking systems
  • Support SWIFT-related activities, including message preparation and basic validation
  • Ensure transactions are processed accurately and within agreed timelines
  • Learn and develop working knowledge of the bank’s core systems and payment platforms

 

Compliance and Controls

  • Support compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with routine checks, reconciliations, and control activities
  • Work closely with Compliance, Banking Operations, and Client Services colleagues when required
  • Always maintain confidentiality and data accuracy

 

Client and Stakeholder Support

  • Assist with maintaining up-to-date client and account records
  • Respond to internal and external queries in a professional and timely manner
  • Support relationship management with correspondent banks and service providers

 

Team and Learning

  • Actively participate in onboarding, training, and development initiatives
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative and professional team culture
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn, take feedback, and build banking knowledge over time


EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

  • A university degree in business, finance, or a related field is an advantage but not required.
  • 0–2 years’ experience in an office, finance, operations, or administrative role is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with systems, data, and basic reporting.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Basic understanding of banking, payments, or financial services.
