POSITION: Bakery Technician                                                            REPORTS TO: Plant Director

We are looking for a Bakery Technician to join our Plant Operations team at our Rossville Plant! Our Bakery Technician will be working closely with the R&D and Operations teams to support standardization in our operations, as well as product development and commercialization efforts. Responsibilities include troubleshooting dough issues on the production line, delivering consistent training to the production team, and conducting bake tests for new and existing products or ingredients.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • You have strong working knowledge of traditional bakery ingredients and products
  • You understand bakery production principles, processes, and equipment
  • You have strong baking skills
  • You have solid computer skills including MS Office

EXPERIENCE

  • You have prior experience in a commercial bakery or food production facility

NICE-TO-HAVE

  • Product development and R&D experience
  • Prior education from a recognized baking institute or a relevant baking certification
  • Prior trainer experience, Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma
  • Create and manage databases

 THINGS YOU WILL DO…

  • Formulate new and existing products to meet objectives
  • Coordinate and supervise production batch testing
  • Provide support and troubleshooting to the production team, ensuring standards are followed
  • Prepare accurate detailed reports including test methods, results, observations and recommendations
  • Observe the baking lines, maintaining detailed and comprehensive records of all documents
  • Order and manage inventory of lab supplies and reagents
  • Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment

OTHER…

  • May be required to work variable shifts from Sun to Thurs
  • Ability to lift up to 12 KG
  • Other duties as assigned
