Hiring: PART TIME Baker

Our bakery takes pride in providing premium baked goods to our community. There are no preservatives and additives in our baked goods and all unsold products are donated to charity at the end of each day! If you are looking to join our team, we'd be happy to review your application!

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of a small team to bake early each morning, following carefully crafted recipes
  • Be responsible for reading production schedules and recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients, moulding and shaping dough, and processing everything through the ovens
  • Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and contribute to a great customer experience.
  • Work efficiently and multi-task in a fast paced work environment

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Early-risers! Shifts start as early as 3 am.
  • A positive attitude and good organizational skills
  • People who take pride in a job well done and will look for things to do
  • Demonstrated commitment to the bakery's success, and to your own development
  • Previous work experience in a kitchen or bakery is considered an asset
  • Willing to work weekends and on public holidays
  • Ability to multi-task
  • First Aid / CPR certified
  • Safe Food Handler certified

Physical Requirements

  • Continuous standing/walking for all tasks
  • Frequent lifting and carrying up to 22 kg
  • Frequent turning and reaching
  • Occasional pushing, pulling and some forward bending
  • Ability to lift at least 2.5 kg to a height of 1.7 meters
  • Constant use of both hands, with frequent wrist rotation and flexing, occasional forceful gripping

Experience

baking: 1 year (preferred)

Previous experience is required, but open to individuals with transferrable skills such as: Pastry Chef, Bread maker, Cook, Chef,
