You'll collaborate closely with teams across the organization, including the broader Data and Analytics team, to deliver inventive solutions that enhance efficiency and meet both technical and business requirements.

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will work with senior team members to architect and establish a robust infrastructure that supports other teams. Your responsibilities will encompass implementing software-defined infrastructure and software deployment, managing Kubernetes clusters, troubleshooting and resolving issues in live systems, overseeing live and batch data pipelines, and offering support and consulting services to other teams and departments.Experience with Golang and Kafka is highly regarded. However, this is not essential to be successful.

This role is located in Brisbane, Australia, where our headquarters are also situated. We have offices in Darwin, Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland, and Wellington. Your day-to-day:

• Creating responsive and adaptive solutions that render and perform well on all devices used to deliver our products.
• Provide infrastructure setup and support services for other data and analytics team members.
• Implement solutions that automate existing manual and semi-automated processes using various technologies.
• Deliver deep dive support on the issues and problems and lead the team in navigating complex issues.
• Troubleshooting, debugging and implementing long-term fixes to bugs.
• Writing and maintaining test coverage.

You're a match if you have…

• Experience with Golang or similar compiled, server-oriented languages.
• Knowledge of Data pipelines such as Apache Kafka, and Snowflake pipelines would be beneficial. Also cloud providers such as AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Understanding of the general concepts of microservices vs. service-oriented architectures.
• Experience with traditional relational databases (MySQL, MSSQL, Postgres, etc.).
• Contribute to the architectural design and improvement of services and applications.
• Exposure to designing and implementing sustainable network, server, application and data
architecture.
