Backend Engineer

Location Qualifications: Bucharest (hybrid 2xweek in office)

Position Overview: 

As a Backend Engineer at Showpad, you’re focused on driving innovation for new functionalities of our product and optimizing our existing codebase. You have autonomy and ownership over your work, ensuring that all aspects are well-architected, including code functionality, comprehensive test automation, scalability within our cloud infrastructure, and proper monitoring.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Oversee and direct projects from scoping to release
• Contribute to the broader engineering/enablement and product strategy
• You are not a coder, you are a software engineer. You love solving complex problems, building performant, scalable, low latency, and highly available services
• Develop a high affinity with your product domain and collaborate with product and design to plan and continuously develop
• Paving the way on groundbreaking new features, designing and implementing architecture, developing and maintaining the team's products in a you-build-it-you-own-it philosophy

Are you our next Backend Engineer?

Must haves

• 3+ years of experience as a backend engineer developing scalable, production-ready solutions
• Experience with Typescript, Golang, PHP or JVM languages (Kotlin, Scala)
• Experience in cloud computing
• Experience with Docker/Kubernetes
• Understand the importance of strong software testing at every stage and can advocate for test-driven development
• Continuous integration and delivery mindset
• A healthy curiosity to learn more.

Nice to haves

• Experience with APIs
• CMS domain expertise
• AWS experience (S3, Lambda, RDS, ..)
