About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to join the Veeam Data Cloud (VDC) engineering team. You will be working with a global team to build next-generation data protection services focused on ensuring data resilience for our customers.

This is a unique opportunity to work on greenfield projects, building features from the ground up that will be deployed and utilized worldwide.

What You'll Do

Design and develop reliable, scalable and globally available cloud services that protect data stored in SaaS services like Microsoft 365
Participate in technical design discussions, reviewing code, and providing feedback to other engineers
Ensure your code is high-quality, thoroughly tested, and secure
Take ownership of the reliability and efficiency of your services running in the cloud
Participate in on-call rotation for product operations

What You'll Bring

5+ years of experience in the software development industry
Expertise with a modern programming language like Java, Go, Scala, or Rust
Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, and concurrency)
Demonstrated expertise designing, building, and implementing core features in production services or software
Experience developing, testing, and debugging production-quality, scalable, multithreaded, concurrent systems
Passion for code quality, extensibility, coding standards, testing and automation

Bonus Skills

Experience building systems that handle large volumes of data, including data storage, data transfer, and data manipulation systems
Experience building data protection or security products
Experience building and operating SaaS services using public cloud
