We’re building the next generation of fleet management — evolving what we’ve proven internally into a scalable experience that ships externally through Portal, Spotify’s developer platform built on Backstage.
Our platform enables engineering teams to execute safe, automated, fleet-wide changes across thousands of repositories and environments. From mature platform engineering organizations to teams investing in developer experience for the first time, we’re delivering tooling that improves reliability, automation, and developer satisfaction at scale.

What You'll Do
Be a valued member of a collaborative, multi-functional team
Develop and maintain backend features using Java, Python, and Node.js with support from more senior engineers
Learn to leverage AI tools such as Claude Code and the Agent SDK to improve development workflows
Contribute to the reliability and maintainability of services owned by your team
Participate in operational support for team-owned services, learning how to troubleshoot and resolve production issues
Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to deliver thoughtful and scalable solutions
Contribute to sound engineering practices such as code reviews, testing, and continuous integration
Grow your technical skills in an environment that supports your development
Who You Are
You have experience with backend development, including coding, testing, and debugging
You are comfortable working with languages such as Java, Python, or Node.js
You understand the fundamentals of software engineering practices such as version control, automated testing, and continuous integration
You care about user experience and understand how backend systems impact end users
You are curious and eager to learn new technologies, including AI-powered development tools
You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with teammates across disciplines
Bonus points if you’ve contributed to open-source projects or built personal projects that demonstrate your interest in backend or platform engineering
