Backend Engineer (NodeJS or Python) - Mumbai

Overview
We are hiring a Backend Developer with 3–5 years of experience to design, build, and maintain backend services, work with APIs and systems collaboratively and independently, in a hybrid setup in Andheri.

Requirements
• 3–5 years hands‑on experience building backend systems using Python or JavaScript (Node.js)
• At least one production‑deployed project
• Strong understanding of REST API design, data modeling, and backend architecture
• Proficiency with version control (Git), testing, and maintainable coding
• Familiarity with authentication mechanisms (e.g., JWT), API security, and performance optimization
• Ability to work independently, take ownership, and manage timelines effectively
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred); AWS Certified Developers (Associate level or above) are prioritized
• Prior experience in financial or data‑heavy systems is a plus

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance, reliable APIs and backend services
• Collaborate with product and frontend teams to translate business and user needs into scalable technical solutions
• Define database schemas and overall system architecture based on requirements
• Write clean, well‑documented, and convention‑aligned code
• Integrate backend with third‑party APIs and external systems
• Ensure backend systems are reliable, secure, and performant
• Contribute to technical decision‑making and help refine development processes
