What you'll do

 We are looking for a Backend Engineer II to join the Doctolib Connect team in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

As a Backend Engineer, your mission will be to work on secure medical communication solutions that enable healthcare professionals to discuss and coordinate patient care with colleagues both within and beyond their organizational walls. You will be working in a feature team developing APIs and backend services that power Europe's largest medical network with over 1M healthcare professionals.

Working in the tech team at Doctolib involves building innovative products and features to improve the daily lives of care teams and patients. We work in feature teams in an agile environment, while collaborating with product, design, and business teams.

• Our solutions are built on a single fully cloud-native platform that supports web and mobile app interfaces, multiple languages, and is adapted to the country and healthcare specialty requirements. To address these challenges, we are modularizing our platform run in a distributed architecture through reusable components.
• Our stack is composed of Rails, TypeScript, Java, Python, Kotlin, Swift, and React Native.

Who you are

• You have 3+ years experience with API design and development using Java 8+ (we're currently on Java 17)
• You have experience running software on cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS
• You have experience with frameworks and libraries like Spring Boot, Akka and Protobuf
• You have experience working with database technologies, preferably JPA, MySQL, MongoDB and Elasticsearch/Opensearch
• You enjoy figuring out why things work, not just that they work
• You're fluent in English
