Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to join the team.    

Our current project involves developing one of the leading trading platforms in the USA, serving a user base of over 200,000 online users daily across desktops, mobile devices, and the web. The system is capable of processing over 1 million requests per second across its distributed infrastructure. 

The responsibilities of the platform's backend services include handling all business processes related to trading, such as order issuance, validation, routing, execution, option price calculation, and reconciliation. We prioritize high performance, low latency, and fault tolerance in our day-to-day tasks. We ensure code quality by performing careful code reviews and various types of testing.  

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll build and own backend services, infrastructure, and data systems. You’ll solve complex scalability challenges while gaining deep expertise in U.S. financial systems and making a direct impact on the products used by millions. 

What we expect from candidates:  

  • 3+ years of backend development experience,  
  • Strong proficiency in Go or Python, 
  • Solid understanding of system design principles, 
  • Experience with Kafka (or similar streaming platforms), 
  • Proven experience delivering large technical projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams, 
  • Strong focus on maintaining high code quality and participating in thorough code review processes, 
  • B2+ English to be able to communicate with multicultural teams and a US customer.

Considered a plus:  

  • Fintech or trading background, 
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Redis, DynamoDB, Kubernetes, AWS (or similar cloud platforms), 
  • Experience working in high-load systems, 
  • Hands-on experience in concurrent programming and understanding of thread synchronization approaches.
