Backend Engineer, Contract (India)

We are seeking a talented Backend Engineer to join a fast-paced, contract-based team focused on delivering innovative software solutions. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and testing of cloud-native applications, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality delivery. You will work on modernizing applications, writing maintainable code, and troubleshooting complex software issues, all while supporting a global client base. Accountabilities:

• Develop, upgrade, and test software applications using Java and React.
• Participate in all phases of the application modernization lifecycle.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code while troubleshooting and debugging issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless implementation of software solutions.
• Work effectively with offshore teams and across time zones to meet client needs.
• Contribute to project delivery in a contract-based engagement with a focus on high-quality outputs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in developing cloud-native applications.
• Strong full-stack experience with expertise in Java and React.
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform services is a plus.
• Experience working with enterprise CI/CD pipelines.
• Previous experience in professional services or consulting environments is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools is desirable.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, contract-based role.
