About the Role: Backcountry is gearing up for a high-demand period, and we’re bringing on a focused team of temporary hourly store employees to help deliver an exceptional customer experience during this busy stretch. Whether you’re supporting sales, stocking inventory, assisting customers on the floor, or operating the register, your work will keep the store running smoothly and help our outdoor community get what they need—fast. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy helping customers, and want to join a dynamic retail team for a short-term assignment.
What You'll Do:
Engage customers, share product knowledge, and support overall store operations
Deliver quick, accurate checkout experiences
Receive, replenish, and organize product
Maintain visual standards and ensure the store looks its best
Provide helpful, solution-oriented service
Process trucks: unload deliveries, sort product, and move freight safely
Handle shipper/receiver tasks: check in shipments, organize the backroom, and stage product for the floor
Replenish and merchandise: restock shelves, maintain visual standards, and keep the store looking dialed
Stay Bonus:
Stick with us through the store closure and earn extra cash. Hit an average of 20+ hours/week and get an extra $3.00/hour, or 30+ hours/week for $4.00/hour, based on actual hours worked during the closure period. The bonus is paid in a lump sum on your final paycheck if you stay through closure and meet expectations; overtime only applies to regular pay.
What We're Looking For:
Previous retail, customer service, or outdoor specialty experience is a plus—but not required
A positive, team-driven mindset with the ability to shift between tasks
Strong communication skills and comfort engaging with customers
Ability to stand, move, lift, and complete physical tasks as required
Reliability and flexibility to support store needs throughout the temporary assignment
Details of the Assignment
This is a temporary role with an expected duration of approximately one month
Hours will vary based on store needs; weekend and evening availability is helpful
Temporary employees may have the opportunity to be considered for future openings, but continued employment is not guaranteed
