What We're Looking For

Cross River’s Accounting team handles the core accounting and tax responsibilities at Cross River, and as AVP, Senior Tax Accountant, you play a key role. To succeed in this role, you should not only have a clear understanding of all current Federal and State tax Law and regulations affecting US Banks but also be ready to keep up with the rapid changes in all the rules. Excellent time management skills are also essential, as you’ll have to ensure our company meets tight deadlines. Tax Accountant responsibilities also include organizing and maintaining records of tax payments.

Ultimately, you should be able to recommend tax strategies that comply with laws and promote our company’s financial well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain/reconcile all tax related GL positions for the group and related companies
  • Prepare monthly corporate income tax provisions
  • Prepare tax disclosures and notes for the Financial Statements
  • Effect, book and monitor tax estimated payments
  • Ensure all Tax Returns are properly filed, and final payments are made
  • Reconcile Prepaid Taxes and all tax provisions
  • Book, valuation and control of Company’s Deferred tax Assets and Liabilities
  • Calculation of Research and Development tax credit
  • Company Acquisitions: incorporation of tax positions/NOLs
  • Coordinate responses to Tax Audits, Notices and Enquires
  • Coordinate info needed by our Tax External Consultants
  • Identify tax savings and suggest ways to increase profits
  • Follow industry trends and track changes related to taxes
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors
  • Forecast tax positions to senior managers
  • Oversight of Company’s Indirect Taxes and Tax Information reporting compliance

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of tax related experience in a public accounting firm or accounting experience in a private company. Banking/Finance experience is a plus
  • Familiarity with banking/tax accounting software packages
  • BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant subject; industry certification (e.g. CMA or CPA) is preferred

Salary Range: $170,000.00 - $190,000.00
