Our Louisville office is growing, and we are seeking an experienced Aviation Lead Civil Engineer to provide technical engineering leadership and project management oversight for complex, multidiscipline aviation projects. In this role, you will lead and mentor our expanding Louisville team of nine talented professionals while collaborating nationally with aviation industry experts. Primary Responsibilities:
Provide technical engineering leadership and project management oversight for complex, multidiscipline aviation projects, including runways, taxiways, terminals, airfield pavements, stormwater systems, utilities, parking, and related infrastructure
Serve as the primary point of contact for aviation clients, lead engagement activities including proposals, presentations, regulatory meetings, trade shows, and other business development efforts
Develop and manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and execution plans to ensure successful delivery of aviation and civil engineering design projects
Complete and oversee aviation and civil engineering designs, feasibility studies, technical reports, and engineering documentation using AutoCAD and related design tools
Create and review 3D models to support design development, quality control, and coordination across project elements.
Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary design teams and subconsultants to ensure alignment with project standards, technical requirements, and timelines
Ensure all engineering designs and processes meet federal, state, and Foth standards, guidelines, and quality expectations
Provide construction representation services, supporting field execution and ensuring alignment between design intent and construction activities
Mentor and guide junior engineers on design practices, technical standards, and effective project delivery
Required Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Kentucky or the ability to obtain licensure within one (1) year
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program
5+ years of project management experience
Minimum of 5 years of aviation project design experience
Experience in construction observation or administration, gained through professional experience or internships
Knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction (runways, taxiways, grading/drainage, pavement markings, etc.) preferred but not required
