How You Can Join Us
PEAKE is looking for capable A/V Technicians to join an on-site installation team in California for a short-term contract (12 weeks). You'll collaborate with A/V Engineers, network engineers, and other install technicians to carry out key tasks and support the overall A/V installation project at a military base.
Work Location & Schedule
This position is travel-based schedule:
- Spend 10-12 weeks working onsite in California
- All travel and onsite accommodation expenses fully covered by PEAKE
- Daily per diem allowance for meals and incidental expenses. (Note: based on GSA rates and typically tax-free when aligned with federal travel guidelines; paid in addition to wages to reduce out-of-pocket costs and simplify expense tracking.)
Clearance Requirement
- U.S. Citizenship required
- DoD Security clearance required.
- Applicants must successfully complete a background investigation and have no felony convictions, with no more than one misdemeanor on record.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- Perform physical installation of a wide variety of AV systems and supporting technologies, including video walls, in diverse environments.
- Mount and secure AV components such as monitors, ceiling speakers, microphones, and multi-display video wall systems with precise alignment and clean cable management.
- Assist with system setup, calibration, and functional testing to ensure optimal video wall and AV system performance.
- Read and interpret design drawings, cable riser diagrams, and architectural plans.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and professional work environment throughout installation and commissioning phases.
- Work with integrated control and signal processing platforms including Extron, Crestron, and Barco systems.
- Terminate and test a variety of wire and connector types (audio, video, network, control, and power).
- Support equipment rack preparation and staging, including wire lacing and installation of power strips, grounding bars, and jack fields.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 pounds independently and occasionally heavier loads with assistance.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach for extended periods during installation activities.
- Must be comfortable working on ladders, lifts, or scaffolding at heights up to 20 feet.
- Requires manual dexterity to handle small components and operate hand and power tools safely.
- Must possess adequate vision, color perception, and hand–eye coordination to align, mount, and connect AV equipment precisely.
- Ability to work in varied environments, including office spaces, mechanical rooms, industrial facilities, and military installations.
