This is a W-2 full-time contract role based onsite in Santa Clara, CA, running from January 29, 2026 through January 28, 2027. We offer competitive pay based on experience, education, and location, along with full benefits, PTO, and an outstanding company culture.


In this role,you will be working closely with automotive technicians and senior engineers responsible for developing and maintaining NVIDIA’s autonomous driving platform. You will focus on triaging reported vehicle platform issues, integrating hardware and software systems, and ensuring vehicles operate safely, reliably, and flawlessly. This role requires strong hands-on technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the flexibility to support night and/or weekend shifts as needed.


What you will be doing:

  • Debug, maintain, and integrate systems into autonomous vehicle platforms

  • Triage reported in-vehicle issues related to sensors, ECUs, vehicle communication, data logging equipment, and software

  • Diagnose and resolve vehicle communication issues; design solutions and escalate incidents when required

  • Perform hands-on vehicle work, including disassembly, to identify root causes of issues

  • Act as the “first responder” for vehicle platform issues

  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support testing, deployment, and system reliability

  • Proactively suggest platform improvements to prevent recurring issues


What we need to see:

  • Hands-on experience diagnosing automotive bus systems and working directly on vehicles (disassembly/assembly)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Automotive, Electrical, IT, or similar) or equivalent practical experience

  • In-depth experience with ECU communication protocols and technologies (CAN, FlexRay, Ethernet)

  • Experience working with automotive sensors such as cameras, radar, ultrasonic sensors, and LiDAR

  • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with ECU flashing, IP/Ethernet, Linux command line tools

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Flexibility to work evening and/or weekend shifts as required


Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with scripting languages and Linux OS

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills in automotive electronics installations

  • Experience using automotive bus analysis tools (e.g., Vector CANoe, CANalyzer)

  • Hands-on experience with sensor calibration and state-of-the-art autonomous vehicle sensor technology
