Autonomous System Technician

Pronto automates the operations that power the global economy. Founded in 2018, our team has been at the forefront of major milestones in self-driving and robotics, including the first, and only, fully autonomous cross-country drive from California to New York. 

We're looking for an autonomous system specialist to join our team. Autonomous system technicians are instrumental in launching and supporting autonomous deployments. Autonomous system technicians travel to customer sites, working closely with customers, operators, and the engineering team to keep our truck deployments rolling smoothly.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Provide structured diagnosis and troubleshooting of automation/technology systems
  • Utilize diagnostic and calibration tools built by the engineering team in Linux
  • Carry out new truck bring-up, testing, and calibration
  • Communicate issues and failures to engineering team for further analysis and resolution
  • Create detailed reports on product issues and reliability
  • Categorize/analyze failures and failure trends
  • Provide suggestions and feedback for improving diagnostic stack
  • Participate in training material development
  • Perform tests of systems and components in the field as well as on a test site
  • Assist operational safety enforcement and provide suggestions
  • Travel to customer sites
  • Work with customer to identify pinch points and improvements for integration of autonomous haulage system at site

Requirements:

  • Experience with Linux required
  • Ability to pick up new computer skills
  • Education in engineering, mining, or trade experience is a plus
  • Software experience is a plus
  • Extensive technical exposure to mining, wireless, and GPS technology
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full time position based in San Francisco, CA, with a salary range between $75,000 - $100,000. Actual compensation offered will depend on work experience, education, skill level, and/or other business and organizational needs. Please note that it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range. Pronto reserves the right to modify this compensation range at any time.
