The Bemac Collision Group has an immediate opportunity for an Auto Body Prepper to join their team in a well-established, progressively growing group of companies. Reporting directly to the Shop Manager, The Auto Body Prepper is responsible for providing correct technical preparation like inspecting, prepping and polishing of vehicles in order to get them ready to be painted.

  • Completes all paint preparation processes for vehicles according to factory specifications
  • May prime, edge, or jam replacement parts
  • Sands and preps for paint, new parts, and blend panels
  • Sands and featheredge surface for primer
  • Properly blocks panels for refinishing
  • Masks and sprays the correct amount and coats of primer
  • Masks all panels and cover car to minimize tapelines and overspray on the vehicle
  • Contributes to maintaining acceptable cost per paint labor hour
  • Knows status of assigned vehicles and helps problem-solve on getting and keeping all vehicles on schedule for on-time delivery
  • Consistently utilizes all required safety equipment and follows proper refinishing procedures in compliance with OHSA guidelines
  • Adheres to all requirements regarding hazardous waste disposal
  • Follow vendor’s procedures to maintain all tools and requirements, including maintenance of paint booth and prep booth filters
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Performs other duties assigned by management

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills required
