Job Summary:  
We are seeking a reliable Automotive Mechanic Helper to support our team of mechanics and technicians with daily shop operations. The successful candidate will assist in repairs, maintenance, and general labour tasks to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service.  

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Assist automotive service technicians and mechanics in performing maintenance and repair work.  
  • Move tools, equipment, and automotive parts to and from designated work area.  
  • Hold and position components during installation, servicing, or repair.  
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform basic maintenance tasks of vehicles and mechanical parts.  
  • Remove, replace, and install tires, batteries, filters, and other components under supervision of floor manager  
  • Wash and clean vehicles and parts before and after repairs.  
  • Maneuvering, navigating and driving vehicles and mechanized equipment as required 
  • Keep the work area safe, clean, and organized. 
  • Assist mechanics in mapping out repair needs and identifying the best options for servicing vehicles.  
  • Dispose of used materials properly and under work safety regulations  
  • Deliver parts and supplies to the work area as required.  
  • Understand and perform safety procedures  
  • Help tradespersons, apprentices, and other workers as directed.  
  • Clean machines and immediate work areas.  
  • Complete reports to record problems and work performed.  
  • Discuss work with supervisors and confirm findings before repairs or replacements.  
  • Be knowledgeable of Body Shop Connect software to perform job duties as required.  
  • Perform other labouring and support tasks as required by the floor manager.  

Requirements

  • Previous experience in an automotive or mechanical environment is an asset but not required.  
  • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.  
  • Physically able to lift/move heavy parts and equipment.  
  • Basic understanding of safety practices in a shop environment (training will be provided)  
  • Willingness to learn and support tradespeople  
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred but not mandatory), higher level education is an asset. 
  • Basic to intermediate level of English is required.
