Position Summary
Requires advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools obtained through extensive work experience and may require vocational or technical education. Responsibilities typically include: working under limited supervision for non-routine situations and may be responsible for leading daily operations. Training, delegating, and reviewing the work of lower-level employees. Problems are typically difficult and non-routine but not complex.
Primary Duties
- Diagnose and troubleshoot automation equipment, including PLCs and SCADA systems.
- Design and implement modifications to control systems under general guidelines or independently.
- Execute repairs and implement modifications to enhance safety and reduce costs.
- Collaborate with management to support manufacturing operations and business continuity.
- Conduct failure investigations and document findings for automation issues.
- Maintain compliance with quality systems while optimizing manufacturing processes.
- Conduct complex diagnostic tests and root cause analysis for system failures.
- Participate in planning and executing system upgrades and expansions.
- Make recommendations for process optimization and efficiency improvements.
- Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience maintaining and/or troubleshooting automated systems in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for automation systems.
- Ability to work under limited supervision and handle non-routine situations.
- Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA systems, and automation equipment.
- Problem-solving and root cause analysis for system failures.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with management and cross-functional teams.
Working Conditions
- Ability to remain in stationary position, often standing, for prolonged periods.
- Ability to ascend/descend stairs, ladders, ramps, and similar structures.
- Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
