Automation & Integration Engineer

AI overview

Build and operationalize high-value workflow automations using Azure-based tools, engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive impactful automation projects.

The Role

As an Engineer in our newly established and rapidly growing AI team, you will build and operationalize high-value workflow automations across business use-cases, product integrations, and internal data intelligence (Data Lake). You will deliver production-grade workflow capability on our Azure-based stack (Azure AI Foundry), integrating LLM and service APIs into reliable, secure, and observable workflows. This includes building a pragmatic workflow layer and extending orchestration via open-source and complementary tooling where appropriate.

Success in this position requires strong software engineering fundamentals, an operational mindset, and the ability to work autonomously while partnering effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across global teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build end-to-end workflow implementations from requirements to production: APIs, services, triggers, orchestration, integrations, and delivery of outputs
  • Implement connectors and ingestion patterns across enterprise systems and internal services
  • Integrate external and internal APIs into workflows, including LLM services where appropriate
  • Use Azure services including Azure AI Foundry and complementary workflow tooling to deliver maintainable, auditable automations
  • Implement authentication/authorization for integrations, ensuring least-privilege access and secure secrets handling
  • Establish strong observability for workflows: structured logging, tracing, metrics, dashboards, alerting, and runbooks
  • Maintain high-quality tests and documentation: unit/integration tests, API contract checks, setup guides, and troubleshooting playbooks
  • Partner with data teams on Data Lake access patterns, workflows, metadata, governance, and reliability

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 2-5 years professional software engineering experience with an integration/automation focus; strong Python (services, APIs, testing)
  • Strong REST API integration skills
  • Cloud infrastructure experience (Azure preferred) operating production systems; cloud security fluency (identity, RBAC, secrets management, logging/auditing)
  • CI/CD experience (Git-based pipelines, automated tests, deployment gates, rollback awareness)
  • Strong testing, documentation, and operational discipline

Preferred skills & Experience

  • Experience with Azure services in production workflow
  • Microsoft Graph and/or strong enterprise identity/API permissioning patterns
  • Experience with orchestration/interaction layers and workflow systems (Power Automate, n8n, or similar)
  • Experience with lightweight app front ends (e.g., Streamlit) and operationalizing workflow outputs to M365 (OneDrive/SharePoint/Teams/email)
