The Automation \ Controls Engineer will join a growing team of IT, Engineering and Health & Safety professionals helping our customers reduce their work-related risk to quality, productivity and employee health.

The Automation \ Controls Engineer will be working with on projects in automotive manufacturing facilities to help implement the systems of tomorrow. While this position will be based out of Metropolitan Detroit, there may be travel to automotive manufacturing facilities across North America.

Responsibilities will Include

  • Work as part of a team to support the setup of IPC hardware and Node-RED plant floor data flow standards as required to support next generation IT systems.
  • Verify and validate accurate data flow from each device.
  • Coordinate with plant resources to schedule and execute tasks.
  • Track and report out on progress.
  • Occasional travel as may be required to facilities in the US and across North America
  • Off-shift and weekend work may be required at times.

Requirements

  • 2 or 4 year degree in engineering and/or technology with emphasis in industrial controls / machine programming
  • Plant floor experience as an Automation \ Controls Engineer working with Siemens PLC's and IPC hardware.
  • Javascript coding experience (Node.js)
  • Strong analytical thinking, as well as problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Experience within large unionized manufacturing facilities preferred
  • Familiarity with plant floor machine monitoring systems preferred
  • Must be based in Metropolitan Detroit area to work on-site
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to be present on-site to complete daily tasks (Not a remote role)
