Project Resources Group (PRG) is seeking a skilled AutoCAD Drafter with a strong background in telecom construction design. This role focuses on the preparation, coordination, and submission of Outside Plant (OSP) design and permitting packages for fiber optic networks.
Responsibilities
- Draft Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and Hybrid Fiber-Coaxial (HFC) designs using AutoCAD-generated maps.
- Utilize AutoCAD Map 3D and GIS formats to produce construction-ready prints.
- Prepare and submit permit applications and support documentation to local, state, and other regulatory agencies.
- Ensure designs and permit packages comply with applicable codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NESC).
- Collect and incorporate as-built data, field notes, survey data, and aerial imagery into project drawings.
- Assemble and manage complete permit submittal packages.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and permitting authorities as needed.
- Perform additional drafting and project-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Design and Drafting Technology or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 2 years of AutoCAD drafting experience, preferably in telecom or utility-related fields.
- Proficiency in creating plans and profile drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Experience interpreting and drafting telecommunication network plans.
- Previous work experience with telecom, construction, utility, or engineering firms.
- Knowledge of GIS systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with NESC standards and permitting processes.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
