Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Role Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Designer to join our team, focusing on high-rise fire protection systems and detailed block plans. This role involves working closely with current staff to deliver accurate technical documentation and ensure the successful design and implementation of fire protection systems. System design is NOT  A REQUIRED ROLE.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop precise AutoCAD drawings for high-rise fire protection systems, including sprinkler layouts, hydrant systems, and associated mechanical components. Note design of sprinkler / hydrant systems is NOT a requirement.
  • Prepare detailed block plans, schematic diagrams, and related technical documentation for submission and construction purposes.
  • Collaborate closely with Protect Fire employees to ensure drawings meet design intent, code requirements, and project specifications.
  • Review and incorporate feedback from design and engineering teams to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Learn and apply industry-specific fire protection drafting techniques, standards, and best practices within 3–4 weeks.
  • Ensure all deliverables are accurate, complete, and submitted on time, supporting project milestones and deadlines.
  • Assist with revisions and updates to existing drawings as project requirements evolve.
  • Support coordination between multiple disciplines to ensure integrated and clash-free design documentation.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD with a proven track record of producing technical drawings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all technical documentation.
  • Quick learner with the ability to understand and apply industry-specific fire protection standards and guidelines
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers, architects, and project teams
  • Familiarity with fire protection systems design (sprinklers, hydrants, fire pumps) could be an advantage, but not essential.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under deadlines while maintaining high-quality output.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow in a specialized technical field.
