Unitech Collision CSN is currently seeking a reliable and organized Autobody Painter to join our growing team in Cornwall, Ontario.

 

The Auto Body Painter is responsible for restoring vehicles to like-new appearance following collisions, dents, scratches, or other damage. You’ll apply expert painting, refinishing, and paint-matching techniques to meet or exceed factory standards, ensuring customer satisfaction with every job.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare vehicle surfaces for painting: sanding, cleaning, smoothing, masking, priming as needed to ensure proper adhesion and finish.
  • Applies all primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats, and clear coats using the correct formulations according to the specifications provided by the paint manufacturer.
  • Perform high-quality paint and refinishing work — including color matching and blending new paint with existing paint to achieve a seamless finish.
  • Refinishes vehicles in accordance with insurance guidelines and the quality standards set by management.
  • Collaborate with collision-repair technicians to understand extent of damage and any structural/body issues before painting.
  • Maintain a clean, organized paint booth and work area; follow all safety and environmental procedures for paint and materials handling.
  • Participate in in-house training and I-CAR training to stay current on industry best practices and techniques.

  • Prior experience as an auto-body painter or refinish technician
  • Proficiency in color matching and blending to factory-quality finishes
  • Attention to detail, patience, strong hand-eye coordination, and quality workmanship
  • Ability to work in a busy collision-repair shop environment, sometimes under time constraints
  • Willingness to participate in training and continuous improvement — both in-house and I-CAR certification
