What you will do
Assist pharmacists in preparing medications for hospice patients and processing admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Manage phone inquiries, enters charge, and notifies pharmacist as needed.
Select, prepare, and label medications for dispensing; prepare FedEx labels for shipments.
Return unused medication bottles post-preparation and gather medications for automated dispensing machines.
Maintain inventory levels, communicate ordering needs, and restock supplies while removing outdated items.
Support equipment maintenance and ensures a clean, sanitized work environment.
Collaborate with pharmacy team members and hospice partners and assist in training new staff as needed.
What we look for
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred
Pharmacy Technician license in the state, if applicable
Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician required
Hospice and palliative care experience preferred
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise good judgment
Strong typing, computer, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities
Familiarity with Framework LTC dispensing software and pharmacy automation preferred
