An Audit Manager job is available with the City of Fort Worth’s Internal Audit Department.

The position will be responsible for managing and supervising staff within the Department of Internal Audit and ensuring that assigned audit staff conducts performance/operational, compliance, construction, information technology and financial audits in accordance with generally accepted government auditing standards.  The position will also be responsible for reviewing audit working papers, drafting and editing audit reports, assisting in on-going risk analyses, providing assistance in the development of the annual audit plan, and assisting in the development of the department’s goals, objectives, policies, priorities and staff development.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with major course work in auditing, business administration, economics, accounting or a related field
  • Four (4) years of increasingly responsible audit experience
  • Two (2) years of supervisory experience
  • Currently possess or obtain a valid certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), as appropriate for the position, within two (2) years from hire
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility
  • Must pass Drug Screen

  • Government experience
  • Operational/performance audit experience

The Audit Manager job responsibilities include:

CJIS:

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility.  Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position:  Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
